Village & Rural Window Cleaning in Kent and East Sussex
Window cleaning for farmhouses, oast houses, barn conversions and village homes, from Tonbridge down to Ticehurst.
Clearview Windows is an exterior cleaning firm based in Paddock Wood, Kent, and we’ve been established for around 15 years. Rural window cleaning is our speciality. We clean country properties all the time: a farmhouse at the end of a long track, an oast house with windows at odd heights, or a barn conversion with a wall of glass. They don’t faze us.

We cover the villages and countryside around our three home towns, Paddock Wood, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, and down across the High Weald into East Sussex as far as Ticehurst. For a free quote, call 0800 193 6569 or 07473 807515.
Why rural properties need a different approach
Country homes aren’t like town houses, and cleaning them takes a bit more planning.
- Long drives and gated yards. We text you the day before we’re due, so you can unlock field gates, yard gates and side gates before we arrive.
- Tricky access. Uneven ground, flower borders, ponds and outbuildings can make ladders awkward or unsafe. Our water-fed poles let us clean from the ground, with nothing leaning on old brickwork, weatherboarding or tile-hanging.
- Windows at every height. Oast houses, converted barns and old farmhouses have windows in odd places. The pole lets us reach upper windows, frames and sills from the ground.
- More of the outside to look after. Country gutters fill fast under big trees. Weatherboarding goes green, solar panels collect dust from the fields, and conservatory roofs disappear under moss. We clean all of it, so you only need one firm.
What we clean

- Residential window cleaning: glass, frames and sills, cleaned with a water-fed pole and purified water.
- Commercial window cleaning: village shops, offices and rural business premises.
- Gutter cleaning: we vacuum gutters out from the ground and take before-and-after camera photos.
- Solar panel cleaning: we remove the dust, pollen and bird mess that build up on panels.
- Cladding and weatherboard cleaning: a soft-wash for the weatherboarding you see on so many Weald houses, barns and oasts.
- Conservatory roof cleaning: we clear moss, algae and leaf mould.
- Fascia and soffit cleaning: we take the green staining off rooflines.
- Velux and skylight cleaning: roof windows in barn conversions and loft rooms.

We do regular rounds every 4 or 8 weeks, or one-off cleans, and we’re fully insured.
Villages we cover
Around Paddock Wood: Five Oak Green, Capel and Tudeley
These are the villages closest to our base. Five Oak Green sits among the old hop gardens and orchards between Paddock Wood and Tonbridge. Capel is a scattered rural parish with farmhouses spread along its lanes. Tudeley is famous for All Saints’ Church, where every window is by Marc Chagall. Our windows are a little more ordinary, but we’re nearby. See also our Paddock Wood page.
Brenchley, Matfield and Horsmonden
These three villages are a few miles south of Paddock Wood. Brenchley has a high street of old timber-framed and Tudor buildings. Matfield is built around one of the prettiest greens and ponds in Kent. Horsmonden has a big village green and the old Furnace Pond, where cannon were once cast. Between them are farmhouses, oasts and converted barns down long lanes, which is exactly the rural window cleaning we specialise in.
Lamberhurst, Goudhurst, Kilndown and Cranbrook
Lamberhurst sits in the valley on the A21, near Scotney Castle and Bewl Water. Goudhurst is on a hilltop with views across the Weald from the church. Kilndown is a small village on the edge of Bedgebury Forest, and further east Cranbrook is a Wealden town known for its windmill and weatherboarded high street. We cover Cranbrook too, for windows, gutters and solar panels. Many homes here are period cottages, weatherboarded houses and oast conversions with big gardens, so gutters, cladding and conservatory roofs need as much care as the windows.
The Medway valley: East Peckham, Beltring, Yalding, Laddingford, Collier Street and Marden
This is flat, open farm country along the Medway, Teise and Beult. Beltring is home to the Hop Farm, the largest group of oast houses in the country. East Peckham has old hop gardens and orchards all around it. Yalding has the longest medieval bridge in Kent. Laddingford and Collier Street are small rural communities out among the fields. Marden is a fruit-growing village surrounded by orchards. Open land means dust and pollen on windows and solar panels, and plenty of country properties with long drives.
Pembury
Pembury is a large village just east of Tunbridge Wells, next to the A21 and Tunbridge Wells Hospital. It’s a mix of older cottages around the village green and newer family homes. For the town itself, see our Tunbridge Wells page.
Over the border in East Sussex: Wadhurst, Ticehurst, Flimwell, Frant and Bells Yew Green
This is the High Weald at its hilliest, with deep lanes, woodland and scattered farms. Wadhurst is a hilltop village with a high street of tile-hung and weatherboarded houses. Ticehurst is near Bewl Water and Pashley Manor Gardens, and it’s the southern edge of our area. Flimwell sits at the crossroads on the A21 by Bedgebury. Frant is built around its large green, and Bells Yew Green, just down the hill, has Frant station. Country homes here are often well spread out, so we text the day before and you can open the gates.
North and west of Tonbridge: Hildenborough, Leigh, Penshurst, Hadlow and Golden Green
Hildenborough runs out from the north-west edge of Tonbridge. Leigh is gathered around a large village green, and Penshurst is known for Penshurst Place and its old tile-hung cottages. To the east, Hadlow is known for its tall Gothic tower, and Golden Green is a small hamlet between Hadlow and East Peckham, out among the fields. See also our Tonbridge page.
West of Tunbridge Wells: Rusthall, Langton Green and Speldhurst
Rusthall has its common and the famous Toad Rock. Langton Green is built around its village green on the road out to Groombridge. Speldhurst is a pretty village whose church has stained glass by Burne-Jones and William Morris. These villages are full of period cottages, older detached houses and big gardens.
Southborough has its own page: window cleaning in Southborough.

What our customers say
“Recently had this business clean our windows and have been very pleased with the results! Wez has been great to deal with and we wanted someone we could trust to be at our property. Thank you Wez and team”
Ash Baldry, Google review ★★★★★
“I always said that I would clean my own windows but it became a bit of a chore. I searched online for a local window cleaner and found Clearview Windows. I received a competitive quote from Wez which I accepted and have now experienced my first clean. I’m very happy with the outcome and should add that Wez was able to reach some high windows that I was never able to reach. So far so good and would highly recommend.”
Kevin Hill, Google review ★★★★★
“The service I’ve received each time from Clearview Windows has be first class. I get a text to confirm the visit and my windows are sparkling clean. I was shown the view from the camera before and after my house gutters were cleaned. The prices charged, I thought was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend to family and friends.”

Rural window cleaning FAQs
We’re at the end of a long drive with gates. How does that work? We text you the day before we’re due, so you can unlock any gates we need to get through. When you ask for a quote, tell us about the drive, gates and where we can park, and we’ll plan around it.
Can you reach the high windows in a barn conversion or oast house? Our water-fed poles extend so we can clean upper-floor windows, frames and sills from the ground, without ladders. Every building is different, though, so mention any especially tall or unusual glazing when you ask for a quote and we’ll tell you honestly what we can reach.
The ground around the house is uneven, or there are borders and ponds. Is that a problem? That’s one of the big advantages of a water-fed pole. We work from the ground and reach over borders, so there’s no need to stand ladders on soft or uneven ground or lean them on your walls.
Do I need to be at home? Not usually. Once the gates are unlocked we can get on with it. For gutter, solar panel or conservatory roof work, we’ll agree a time with you.
Can you clean weatherboarding, gutters and solar panels on a country property too? Yes. We soft-wash cladding and weatherboarding, vacuum gutters (with camera photos), and clean solar panels, conservatory roofs, soffits and fascias. Tell us what you’d like done and we’ll put it all in one free quote.
Do you work for farms and rural businesses? Yes. We do commercial work as well as homes, so we can quote for shops, offices and business premises in the villages and countryside.
How often should a country home have its windows cleaned? Most customers choose a regular round every 4 or 8 weeks. Others book a one-off clean, for example in spring or before a family event.
How much does it cost? Country properties vary a lot in size and access, so we give a free, no-obligation quote for each one.
