You can see Hadlow from miles away because of its tower, the Grade I-listed folly from the 1830s, which was damaged in the Great Storm of 1987 and has since been restored. Below it are The Square, the High Street and St Mary’s Church, one of the oldest churches in the area, first recorded in 975. The River Bourne runs through the parish and once powered mills in the village and at Golden Green.
