Window Cleaner in Collier Street & Laddingford
These are two of the closest villages to our Paddock Wood base. Laddingford is about two miles away and Collier Street a little under three.
Collier Street has no shop and no pub, just St Margaret’s church and school, scattered farms and houses strung along the road. It’s sometimes called “the village in an orchard”. That makes it a good fit for a local window cleaner who is happy working down long drives and farm tracks. We already clean for several households here.
Collier Street
Most of Collier Street’s houses were built in Victorian times, along the old road (the B2162) and the lanes that branch off it: Green Lane, Spenny Lane and Haviker Street. Victorian cottages sit alongside larger farmhouses and a couple of former pubs that are now homes. Orchards come right up to the gardens. There’s plenty of blossom on the glass in spring and a lot of leaves in the gutters in autumn.
Laddingford and Claygate
Laddingford, with St Mary’s church and primary school and the Chequers Inn, is part of Yalding parish. Our round there runs along Lees Road and into Cleavesland, St Mary’s Close and Gravelly Ways. We also cover Darman Lane, Pikefish Lane, Emmet Hill Lane and Claygate Road towards Claygate.
What we clean
We clean with a water-fed pole, so there are no ladders against old brickwork and nothing standing in your borders. As well as windows on 4 or 8-weekly rounds, we clean conservatory roofs, vacuum out gutters from the ground with camera photos, and clean fascias and soffits. We also wash solar panels and soft-wash weatherboarding and cladding on barn conversions. Farm offices and other business premises can have commercial window cleaning.
Why the orchards matter
Living among fruit trees is lovely, but it’s hard on the outside of a house. Blossom and pollen stick to the glass in spring. Bird droppings and sticky fallen fruit build up on conservatory roofs in late summer. By November, leaves have filled the gutters and are starting to block the downpipes. A good routine here is a regular window round, a conservatory roof clean in spring and a gutter clear in late autumn, which keeps the house on top of every season.
How it works out here
We text the day before each visit. You don’t need to be at home, but it helps if the side gate is unlocked and we know where to park off the lane. If you have a long drive or a gate with a code, just tell us once and we’ll note it for every visit.
Collier Street & Laddingford FAQs
Do you cover the houses well outside the village?
Yes. Farmhouses and cottages down tracks off the B2162 are a big part of the work here.
Can you clean barn or oast conversions?
Yes. Pole-fed pure water reaches odd-height windows and roof lights from the ground, and we can soft-wash weatherboarding too.
Are quotes free?
Yes. We give free quotes with no obligation, by phone, email or after a quick look at the house.
Can you fit me in with my neighbours?
Yes. Because we’re only a couple of miles away, it’s easy to add another house on the same lane to the day we’re already out here.
